New Year's Eve in Chicago

We continued our grand tour with a stop in Chicago for New Year's Eve at the Cooks' house. Ed had to work, so we arrived around 8ish--just enough time to get the kids riled up before bedtime!

The 9 of us--this might be the first picture of all of us together since Ben was born.

Thomas and Abbey--another one we'll save for the wedding slideshow

We followed our now-perfected strategy of putting the kids to bed before eating our dinner. The exception to this was Ben, who reclined quietly by the Christmas tree while we ate.

Our beautiful table! We had French onion soup and prime rib sandwiches. Yum!

Due to a faulty cork in one of the wine bottles, we had to strain the bottle.

Guiness cake with vanilla ice cream and salted caramel sauce for dessert. Yum!

And as a bonus, I think we actually made it to midnight this year!
