Rudolph Ramble

It all started with Diane, who signed up for the Rudolph Ramble. I thought the hats you got for registering were really cute (ok, shallow reason to sign up for an 8K!), and November/December seemed like a good time of year to get in shape, and a Sunday morning race in Chicago meant Saturday night girls' night in Chicago, so I signed up, as did Kathy. Because, really, how cold can it be along Chicago's lakefront in mid-December? You know how this ends, right?

We decided to make reindeer-themed fleece jackets, each picking a reindeer and team number. We got some help putting our jackets together.

Before the race. Like our antlers? The temps were single digits, and everything around the running paths was packed with snow. Definitely December!

Prancer, Blitzen and Donder

We got to meet Santa! He told us we were very good for running eight kilometers on such a chilly day!

Getting some pre-race tips from the big guy of the day!

Post race. We did it! While we were running it wasn't too cold. It was while we were standing still before and after the race that we really felt the chill! p.s. Do you like our hats?

A little post-race celebration--stuffed French toast. Yum!
