Easter Fun!

We had originally planned to host Easter this year, but when Ed had to be in Milwaukee for meetings during the week leading up to the holiday weekend, we decided it made more sense to head to Wisconsin as a family. Maybe next year???

Easter egg dyeing

James was more interested in eating the eggs (peeled) than dyeing them

The guys went for a bike ride on Saturday. Most of the long weekend was unseasonably cool, which was ironic considering how late Easter was this year.

Posing with their baskets and cousin James

My favorite part of the meal: carrot cake! (decorated, of course, with little frosting carrots)

Making faces

My second favorite part of the meal: ribbon jello! This jello requires dedication--each layer has to cool and solidify before the next is made, so it's a several day process. Of course, both my boys are weirded out by jello and neither would touch it. Sigh...

The belly shot!

We did an Easter egg hunt outside on Saturday. You can see the jackets and pants--it wasn't too warm! The kids all had fun though.
 Racing for an egg

Getting a little help for a high one. We had to convince TJ to leave some of the easy ones behind for the younger kids.

The annual egg cracking game on Sunday!

Three big deviled egg fans!

Sunday was gorgeous! It finally warmed up and we stuck around longer than planned to enjoy the nice weather. This included an impromptu baseball game in the backyard.

And of course wagon rides!
