Memorial Day weekend at Pearl Lake

We spent Memorial Day weekend at Pearl Lake; fun as always, but bittersweet because both it was the first summer weekend without Uncle Mark and because it was likely the only weekend of summer we'd all be there because of babies being born.

Buppa chilling with James and Jojo

Tube jumping: Pat made it all the way across

Ed, not quite

After a late night arrival, the boys got up early to fish in their jammies with Ed and I slept in a bit.

I eventually came down in time to see Grammy drop Jojo off on the raft for a little fishing (TJ had been out there but chose to come in). Jojo then did what every little fisher kid does at some point: had such a good cast that he flung himself into the water. He had a life jacket on, so he was fine, but a bit freaked out and not happy. As I urged mom to turn around and paddle back out there (I certainly wasn't going to be fast, swimming out there in my pjs and pregnant belly), Uncle Pat came to the rescue. He had just come down for a morning swim and started it out by rescuing the floating Jojo. Needless to say, that ended Jojo's fishing for that morning!

But not for the weekend...these boys love to fish! Jojo usually doesn't have a hook/bait, but now TJ frequently does.

One of many catches for the weekend:

Yes, we have pictures of TJ in this floaty fish as a 4 month old, and now as a 5.5 year old. Goof ball.

Aunt Jenn Jenn, her belly, and James. James is all about the sand toys and shallow water.

Jojo loves the plastic jet ski toys!

On Big Mable with Buppa

And again with Corey and Grammy

Cool dude!

I wish that my boys liked watermelon as much as James! He also attacked a bowl of cantaloupe.

The belly shot! 5 weeks to go for Jenn; 11 for me.
And it's purely coincidence that we have almost the same color swimming suit!

The annual in-front-of-the-cottage family photo. There will be two more in this photo next year!
